The Energetic Bodies

The Energetic Body

Your body operates through a complex network of energetic systems-an expansive, interconnected way of understanding the human vessel. These systems overlap and interconnect throughout your body, forming a web of energy that influences your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Let’s take a closer look at what these systems are, what they do, and how they affect you.

The human energetic body comprises five major layers:

  1. The Chakras-the best-known energy centers.
  2. The Sub-Chakras-secondary energy points associated with the primary chakras.
  3. The Cords-energetic links connecting you to people, places, and experiences.
  4. The Energetic Fields-unseen aura and energy patterns surrounding you.
  5. The Root System-the foundational energy network grounding you to the earth and your origins.

These five systems work together in concert, managing both internal and external functions of your vessel. Each layer is itself multi-dimensional and can be influenced by many factors. A disturbance in one system (say, the Root System) can ripple through to another (like the Heart Chakra), and eventually manifest as physical symptoms if left unaddressed.

Learning about your energetic body can be the first step toward healing deep-rooted issues such as ancestral patterns, long-term addictions, cycles of abuse, habitual behaviors, emotional triggers, or chronic health problems. The energetic system is vast-and life’s journey can sometimes bring us into contact with negative influences that drain or distort our natural energy. Some refer to these as “energetic parasites,” entities or energies that feed off the subtle chemicals and vibrations of your system.

That’s why, when you seek a physical check-up from a healthcare provider, it can be beneficial to also consult a spiritual healer. Doing so ensures that all aspects of your vessel-physical and energetic-are being considered. Ideally, this holistic approach works alongside Western medicine to provide a complete picture of your body and energy.

The Energetic Fields

What Are the Energetic Fields?

In holistic and esoteric traditions, the energetic field is described as a radiant, multi-layered force that both surrounds and interpenetrates the physical body. This field is seen as a living extension of your mind, emotions, and spirit.

Appearance and Structure

Shape and Size

The energetic field is often depicted as an ovoid or egg-shaped bubble surrounding the body. In a vibrant, healthy state, it can extend several feet outward—sometimes up to eight feet or more.

Layers (Subtle Bodies)

Rather than one uniform aura, the field is composed of multiple interwoven layers, each vibrating at its own frequency. These layers correspond to different facets of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Texture and Flow

The energy field is dynamic and fluid. Some describe it as vapor-like or breezy, while the layer nearest the skin, the Etheric Layer, may feel denser, almost like a web or subtle static.

Clarity and Density

The quality of the field is believed to mirror your overall state of health and consciousness.

  • Clear and Vibrant: aligned with joy, love, vitality, and emotional balance.
  • Dark, Muddy, or Thin: associated with stress, trauma, illness, or energy blockages.

The Seven Energetic Layers

There are seven primary layers of the human energy field, beginning with the layer closest to the physical body. These layers alternate between structured fields (like standing waves of light) and colored, fluid-like layers, continuing this pattern from the first through the seventh.

The seven layers, often referred to as the energy bodies or layers of the aura are:

  1. Etheric Body
The densest and closest to the physical form. It resembles a web or matrix of light and serves as the energetic blueprint of the body.
  2. Emotional Body
The layer where emotional energy is processed, expressed, and stored. It reflects self-love, feelings, and unresolved emotional waves.
  3. Mental Body
The realm of thoughts, beliefs, patterns, and mental programming.
  4. Astral Body
The bridge to the astral plane. It holds dream energies, emotional memories, and imprints from past experiences; including early life and past-life impressions.
  5. Celestial Body
A luminous, higher-frequency layer connected to spiritual insight, intuition, and divine love.
  6. Etheric Template
A more refined structural layer associated with spiritual architecture and the deeper energetic blueprint of the physical and subtle bodies.
  7. Causal Body
The highest and most expansive layer, linked to soul wisdom, spiritual purpose, and the overarching themes of one’s life journey.

The first three layers are denser and resonate with the physical plane, while the higher layers vibrate at progressively subtler, lighter frequencies.

Disturbances in the Field

Holes, tears, energetic debris, or foreign energetic objects can lodge within these layers. Such disruptions are believed to affect health, vitality, emotions, and overall well-being and in some esoteric perspectives, can be the underlying cause of mysterious or undiagnosable conditions.

Some traditions also teach that energetic parasites, disembodied consciousness, or entities may attach to weakened areas of the field, drawing energy or influencing emotional and spiritual states.

Interconnection With the Chakra System

Each of the seven layers is deeply interconnected with:

  • Chakras
  • Sub-chakras
  • Energetic cords
  • Root systems and networks

Together, these structures form a unified system that influences your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual functions your entire Mind-Body-Spirit framework.

The Cords

The Cords

Within the human energy system, there exists a primary pillar of light and frequency that runs vertically through the body. When attuned, this central beam can be felt, activated, and consciously influenced.

Within this pillar are the Cords-a fundamental part of the energetic system. These Cords can be separated, tuned, strengthened, or adjusted, and they influence not only the energetic layers and chakras but also the internal organs and physical systems of the body.

Frequency of the Body and Organs

Just as the energy field holds vibration, every organ and region of the body has its own natural frequency. While overall human frequency ranges from 7–13 Hz, specific regions resonate differently:

  • Heart: ~5 Hz
  • Pelvic Region: ~6 Hz
  • Thorax: 4–6 Hz
  • Abdomen: 6–9 Hz
  • Head: 8–12 Hz

The Cords interact with these organ frequencies and can either harmonize or disrupt them depending on their condition.

Celestial Influences on the Cords

Each Cord connects to one or more celestial bodies, allowing planetary frequencies to move through you, into the Earth, and back upward. This cyclical movement helps circulate energy and integrate the influence of the planets into your system.

Planetary movements—such as transits, trines, squares, and conjunctions can cause the Cords to tighten, loosen, vibrate, or emit a specific “note.” Understanding your astrological chart reveals the tone, pitch, and pattern each Cord naturally resonates with.

The Eight-Note Scale of the Cords

The Cords respond to a simplified, esoteric eight-note scale:

C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C♯

These associations are based on expanding planetary orbital frequencies by billions of times to bring them into resonance with the human energetic field.

Different traditions interpret planet-to-note relationships differently, but many systems follow a similar logic:

  • Some match planets to notes through orbital properties.
  • Others follow symbolic or archetypal resonance.
  • Some derive frequency relationships from harmonics such as the Schumann Resonance or Kepler’s Music of the Spheres.

Kepler proposed that Earth “sings” the notes Mi and Fa (E and F).
Modern interpretations sometimes associate Earth’s resonance with F♯.
Other systems assign notes according to cosmic harmonics, such as:

  • Mercury → C♯
  • Venus → A
  • Earth → C♯
  • Mars → D
  • Jupiter → F♯
  • Saturn → D
  • Uranus → G♯
  • Neptune → G♯
  • Pluto → C♯

How the Cords Interact With the Body

The Cords influence both internal and external systems. They are directly connected to:

  • The seven energetic layers
  • The chakra system
  • Sub-chakras
  • Root systems
  • Organ frequencies

Because of this interconnected network, imbalances in the Cords can affect physical organs, just as physical issues can influence the energetic Cords.

Cord Imbalances and What They Indicate

Just like strings of an instrument, the Cords can experience various forms of dysfunction:

Too Tight or Too Loose

May indicate energetic imbalance, overstimulation, depletion, or external influence.

Overheating (Top and Bottom Hot at Once)

A major electrical imbalance is occurring within the body or field.
Possible causes include nerve blockage, inflammation, energetic interference, or external energetic disturbances.

Rust, Corrosion, or Stiffness

Often associated with heavy drug use, long-term prescription medication, or chemical overload in the body.

Fraying or Severed Cords

Represents a serious energetic disruption and should be addressed immediately.
If a Cord appears detached, the individual should also consult a medical professional to ensure the related physical area is safe and functioning properly.

Summary

The Cords serve as a bridge between:

  • The energetic field
  • Chakras and sub-chakras
  • Organs
  • Celestial bodies
  • Musical frequencies
  • Planetary harmonics
  • The Sun and Moon

They form one of the most dynamic structures within the human energy system, influencing both physical and spiritual aspects of the human experience.
